The most stable, most flexible architecture — and the most expensive. A single boiler kept at steam temperature with a heat-exchanger tube drawing brew water through it — so you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The prosumer sweet spot. This drives most of the milk-drink workflow and price difference between them.
- Temperature. The Breville Oracle has PID temperature control (steadier shot-to-shot consistency); the ECM Mechanika does not.
- Portafilter — accessories don't transfer. The Breville Oracle takes a 54mm portafilter and the ECM Mechanika a 58mm, so tampers, bottomless portafilters and baskets bought for one won't fit the other.
- Built-in grinder. The Breville Oracle grinds and brews in one machine; with the ECM Mechanika you add a separate grinder — more counter space and another purchase, but a free choice of grinder and easier to upgrade.
