Two prosumer-tier espresso machines for enthusiast / dialed-in and latte & cappuccino, compared on the specs that actually decide the buy — not review fluff.
Both are prosumer-tier espresso machines suited to enthusiast / dialed-in and latte & cappuccino. The Bezzera BZ10 has a heat exchanger (hx) and the Breville Oracle a dual boiler, which is the main difference. The Breville Oracle adds PID temperature control. Match the boiler type and control style to how you brew; tiers are price bands — check the current price at the retailer.

Which to choose
- Boiler — the deciding spec. The Bezzera BZ10 uses a heat exchanger (hx) and the Breville Oracle a dual boiler. A single boiler kept at steam temperature with a heat-exchanger tube drawing brew water through it — so you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The prosumer sweet spot. Separate boilers for brew and steam, each independently temperature-controlled. The most stable, most flexible architecture — and the most expensive. This drives most of the milk-drink workflow and price difference between them.
- Temperature. The Breville Oracle has PID temperature control (steadier shot-to-shot consistency); the Bezzera BZ10 does not.
- Portafilter — accessories don't transfer. The Bezzera BZ10 takes a 58mm portafilter and the Breville Oracle a 54mm, so tampers, bottomless portafilters and baskets bought for one won't fit the other.
- Built-in grinder. The Breville Oracle grinds and brews in one machine; with the Bezzera BZ10 you add a separate grinder — more counter space and another purchase, but a free choice of grinder and easier to upgrade.
Which one should you buy?
- Pick the Bezzera BZ10 if you would rather choose your own grinder and upgrade it later.
- Pick the Breville Oracle if you want one machine on the counter instead of a separate grinder; or if you want PID temperature control for shot-to-shot consistency.
